QIS2023 – The Quality Standard for Self-Management programmes of all types

First published in April 2012, and significantly updated in 2015, 2020 and 2023, QIS2023 is the “gold standard” for the self-management education sector. QISMET developed this universal standard to assure the delivery of consistently high quality self-management programmes for all types of provision.

The types of programmes available are rapidly changing to reflect the needs of all individuals who may require self-management education. In particular, digitally based programmes offer a wide range of approaches that includes apps, coaching, telephone support, access to groups and libraries of information.

The key requirements for QISMET accreditation are that the approach must provide structured education and must have defined relevant outcomes that can be demonstrated and are achieved. We do not accredit stand-alone products that are not part of a structured education pathway .
