'Our online type 2 diabetes education programme was accredited against the QIS2015 Quality Standard in December last year. Certification is vital for us because it provides reassurance to commissioners that we are delivering a quality product.
This is a rigorous process but the investment in time was definitely worth it. The self-assessment workbook ensured that we had all the necessary protocols and procedures in place ready for the audit visit, and the QISMET team were on hand to answer any questions and provide support.
The audit day went smoothly and our team appreciated the positive feedback and suggestions for further improvement.
We have a clear and easy to follow process for helping you to achieve QISMET accreditation and are here to support you every step of the way.
Please note that during the pandemic all accreditation work is being undertaken remotely. Please contact us to discuss how best we can do this.
Having our education courses recognised and certificated adds a significant endorsement to what we do. It did involve a significant amount of work, especially as we had 3 programmes certificated by QISMET all at the same time, but actually it was a good opportunity to make sure our procedures were streamlined and could stand up to rigorous assessment.
We can therefore now remain confident that we are providing education services to the highest of our ability and are now recognised for that. Once all the paperwork from our end was completed the process of achieving certification was seamless and painless and the actual day of our site visit was plain sailing thanks to all the work that we did beforehand."

"We have just updated our PDAC workbook and I thought this another opportunity for the Peterborough Diabetes Team to express its gratitude to you for the QISMET review that you conducted last year. Your visit was a phenomenal shot in the arm for us, not just because we gained accreditation but also we got considerable satisfaction from updating all the policies and lesson plans. The whole process of our pre-visit preparation and then discussion with you re-invigorated us.
We were encouraged to look at new ways of delivering education to different groups, in particular to young people. Our PDAC education development meetings are now much more structured and focused. We have changed delivery of certain sections to make them more patient friendly and changed the timing of the course. We have developed a new version of PDAC called PDAC bites specifically for young people which is a short course for those reluctant to attend the full programme.
Thank you again and we look forward to your next visit."
