SS2Q is a best practice Quality Standard and self-assessment tool that was originally co-produced by voluntary sector organisations, Primary Care Trusts (PCTs), the Expert Patients Programme (EPP) and the Department of Health in 2008. It has since been improved and re-issued by QISMET as SS2Q 2017.
Straightforward and practical, it consists of a Standard that spells out the quality standards that represent best practice. These can either be used by providers to help set up their programmes or for those providers already delivering, to apply for certification. This will demonstrate to their funders that they are following best practice.
The cost of certification to SS2Q has also been dramatically reduced with the introduction of the revised Standard. It now starts at just £1,000 for 3 years certification for a local provider of Stanford courses.
